Happiness is when you mention “OK Boomer” to your Millennial son and he doesn’t know what it is. Now this is a savvy, social man so his not knowing what the term means, well, I loved that and it garnered him a huge hug.
Yes, the term is irreverent but isn’t that what we expect of young people, to push the limits and try to piss off the older folks?
What I feel is much more disturbing is reports that GenZers are apparently referring to COVID-19 as “Boomer remover.” Well, not only is it inaccurate – another hard-hit group suffering fatalities from the scourge are young adults in their 20s and 30s – but it belies both an ignorance and a lack of concern for the realities of what that could mean to their very own lives. How funny would it be if the Boomers removed turn out to be their own parents and grandparents.
I’m going to chalk this one up to the folly of youth and hope that no more GenZers have their Boomers removed.
